Seeking current students or recent graduates for transcription and translation opportunities. For transcribing positions: Various audio-only, video, and multiple participant transcription projects are available. You must be a very fast typist, and a good listener, as on average it takes 1 hour to transcribe 15 minutes of audio. Some training and software are available for those who pass a short transcription assessment and are hired. For translators: This position may serve international students well. You should be proficient at reading, speaking and writing at least two languages. Translation jobs may involve print-to-print translations of books, papers, websites or summaries of audio or video programs. May also include some word-for-word transcription duties when available. If you’re a fast typist, learn new software and specialized procedures quickly, or are well versed and can read, write and live in two languages this may be the job for you.
